Let me start where we left off. I graduated from College and am currently doing my student teaching. I am teaching at Rigby Middle School and I am loving every second of it.
Here I am when I graduated. Desmond walked across the stage with me. It was a great time. I have worked very hard for this moment and I am glad that I am able to experience it with the little boy. Once he comes I will be completely finished with school and will be a certified teacher. That's pretty awesome to say.
Just a few weeks after graduation I took a little trip to the hospital. Isaac and I were driving to get some lunch on one of our days off and my heart started beating really fast. I couldn't catch my breath and was worried that I was having a heart attack. We called my doctor and they told me to go to the hospital. We went to the emergency room and at the same time my stomach started to hurt really bad and Desmond stopped moving. So I was freaking out. We had to sit in the ER for about 20 minutes until they pulled us into a room and saw that my heart was beating out of rhythm. They sent me back to labor and delivery to see if I was in labor. When they hooked me up to all the monitors we saw that Desmond was completely fine, like always. He kept kicking the monitor wrapped around me. After a few tests they decided that I was dehydrated. They gave me a giant mug to replenish my fluids and let me go.
It was not an experience I would want to repeat, but I got all registered at the hospital and go to skip the tour. So it took a task off of my check list. I am so incredibly glad that Isaac had the day off and that we were together. I would've been freaking out if he wasn't there. He sat with me and told me it was all going to be alright, which is what I needed to stay calm. He keeps me calm in all of the craziest situations. It's a great skill for him to have because I am always freaking out. Also, look how handsome he is. I hope Desmond looks just like him.
At about 32 weeks we got a 3d ultrasound of Desmond. The little turkey kept blocking his face because he brings his hands up to the sides of his head when he sleeps, just like him mom. Finally he moved his hands after shaking me and poking him for about 15 minutes. I think he is the most handsome little boy in the entire world. To me, and the ultrasound doctor, we think he looks just like Isaac. He has the biggest pouty lips that poke out and I can't get over them. He got the Martin cheeks so they're round and luscious. I might be biased, but I think he is the most handsome little boy in the entire world.
Desmond is so big now and he moved CONSTANTLY! I love it. Right now I am on bed rest, which is why I can finally update everyone on our lives. I woke up one day with some shooting pain in my back and it just continued to get worse. I finally couldn't walk and cried every time I moved. Isaac told me that I needed to go into the doctor because this couldn't possibly be normal pregnancy pain. When I went in yesterday I found out that he was right. I am so grateful for my doctors who take such great care of me and make sure that I am completely comfortable. I am so glad I switched doctors to Dr. Leavitt, it was the best decision I feel that I have personally made in this entire pregnancy. I don't know if I would feel as ready to deliver this baby if he wasn't my doctor, and his great staff.
When I went in he told me that he thinks that I have slipped or herniated disk in my back and has called for an MRI that I am going in for today. We will see what happens. Right now life is all up in the air and I'm not exactly sure what's going to happen. Luckily my student teaching has given me a week to figure it out and hopefully we can all figure this out. I will keep you updated as I find things out.
I also had a wonderful baby shower and have taken some maternity pictures which I will update you with when I get those pictures. :).
As for now, I am going to finish my marathon of America's Next Top Model, eat some food, and stare at Shepard who is so mad that we have to stay in bed today. Hope you all have a better day than Shepard is having. :).
