Bed Rest and Free Time

I have been put on bed rest for a week and can finally update the blog. A lot has happened since our last post. I am still very  much largely pregnant, and we only have a few weeks to go before Desmond gets here. We are really excited for him to get here. We are both getting very anxious.

Let me start where we left off. I graduated from College and am currently doing my student teaching. I am teaching at Rigby Middle School and I am loving every second of it.

Here I am when I graduated. Desmond walked across the stage with me. It was a great time. I have worked very hard for this moment and I am glad that I am able to experience it with the little boy. Once he comes I will be completely finished with school and will be a certified teacher. That's pretty awesome to say.

Just a few weeks after graduation I took a little trip to the hospital. Isaac and I were driving to get some lunch on one of our days off and my heart started beating really fast. I couldn't catch my breath and was worried that I was having a heart attack. We called my doctor and they told me to go to the hospital. We went to the emergency room and at the same time my stomach started to hurt really bad and Desmond stopped moving. So I was freaking out. We had to sit in the ER for about 20 minutes until they pulled us into a room and saw that my heart was beating out of rhythm. They sent me back to labor and delivery to see if I was in labor. When they hooked me up to all the monitors we saw that Desmond was completely fine, like always. He kept kicking the monitor wrapped around me. After a few tests they decided that I was dehydrated. They gave me a giant mug to replenish my fluids and let me go.

It was not an experience I would want to repeat, but I got all registered at the hospital and go to skip the tour. So it took a task off of my check list. I am so incredibly glad that Isaac had the day off and that we were together. I would've been freaking out if he wasn't there. He sat with me and told me it was all going to be alright, which is what I needed to stay calm. He keeps me calm in all of the craziest situations. It's a great skill for him to have because I am always freaking out. Also, look how handsome he is. I hope Desmond looks just like him.

At about 32 weeks we got a 3d ultrasound of Desmond. The little turkey kept blocking his face because he brings his hands up to the sides of his head when he sleeps, just like him mom. Finally he moved his hands after shaking me and poking him for about 15 minutes. I think he is the most handsome little boy in the entire world. To me, and the ultrasound doctor, we think he looks just like Isaac. He has the biggest pouty lips that poke out and I can't get over them. He got the Martin cheeks so they're round and luscious. I might be biased, but I think he is the most handsome little boy in the entire world.

Desmond is so big now and he moved CONSTANTLY! I love it. Right now I am on bed rest, which is why I can finally update everyone on our lives. I woke up one day with some shooting pain in my back and it just continued to get worse. I finally couldn't walk and cried every time I moved. Isaac told me that I needed to go into the doctor because this couldn't possibly be normal pregnancy pain. When I went in yesterday I found out that he was right. I am so grateful for my doctors who take such great care of me and make sure that I am completely comfortable. I am so glad I switched doctors to Dr. Leavitt, it was the best decision I feel that I have personally made in this entire pregnancy. I don't know if I would feel as ready to deliver this baby if he wasn't my doctor, and his great staff.

When I went in he told me that he thinks that I have slipped or herniated disk in my back and has called for an MRI that I am going in for today. We will see what happens. Right now life is all up in the air and I'm not exactly sure what's going to happen. Luckily my student teaching has given me a week to figure it out and hopefully we can all figure this out. I will keep you updated as I find things out.

I also had a wonderful baby shower and have taken some maternity pictures which I will update you with when I get those pictures. :).

As for now, I am going to finish my marathon of America's Next Top Model, eat some food, and stare at Shepard who is so mad that we have to stay in bed today. Hope you all have a better day than Shepard is having. :).

Let's Play Catch Up

Well, I haven't done this in awhile and I think it's time that I updated everyone on my life.
I have my own blog where I wrote a bunch of emo depressing stuff back when I was starting college. Haha. I'm much happier now, I was happy then, just a hipster.
Recently, quite a bit of stuff has gone on in my life, it's actually been a little insane and I feel like I should have a place where I can update friends and families on, not only my life, but the life of my family. So here goes.

About a year ago I started dating this guy named Isaac, a lot of you know him already, I already did, from high school.

There he is, with an eye patch. Well, we weirdly started dating and I kind of fell in love with that goober of a man. We got a dog together and we, nerdily, named him after our favorite video game character Commander Shepard.

He's pretty much the coolest dog in the entire world. He's super smart and has this really creepy stare that makes us laugh all the time. He's actually staring at me right now because i'm eating pizza and that is his favorite.

Well, pretty soon after that we got all sorts of engaged and we were pretty darn happy about that.

It was actually pretty darn awesome and I was incredibly happy.
As a lot of you know, I am and English Education major and in order to graduate we have to do a student teaching experience. Because of this we had to very quickly get everything ready and get married. So we were only engaged for about 4 months before getting married.
I also just want to put in a disclaimer and say that I've known and been friends with Isaac since Middle School. So we weren't that crazy.

On December 28, 2013 We got married.
It was the best day of my entire life and I have never been more excited to spend the rest of my life with someone so great and so wonderful. I laugh every day, which was the most important thing I could ever ask for. He's so loving, so caring, and so kind.

This is me and my Dad.

We were actually pretty surprised that we got married. We couldn't stop laughing.

PS. My mom is much cooler than yours. She made my bouquet out of paper.

This is the first family picture we've taken with everyone. It's only been like, my entire life since we've had a family picture.

It was the greatest day ever. We had so much fun. Then we went to Vegas on our honeymoon and we spent New Years on Freemont Street and it was the coolest thing in the world. I don't have any pictures because they were all on my old phone.. So I suck basically. We spent half of the week with Isaac's dad and his family and it was really awesome. It was also really warm.

Well, we lived our lives for a month and a half and it was really great. Being married has been such a great and exciting adventure. We fight, like every couple, but it's been amazing to see how much closer we are after every fight and I really am quite proud of the way that we communicate with each other, I pride myself on the fact that we can tell each other anything.

Well, we got the best and most shocking news in March.. WE'RE PREGNANT! You can try and prevent things as much as you want, but sometimes things are supposed to happen. We found out on March 19, 2014 that we were expecting. I thought Isaac's heart might explode, but he's come around since then and he's more excited than I have ever seen him. He's really looking forward to being a dad.

This is how Shepard announced that he was going to be a big brother. He's pretty excited. He gives little baby a bunch of kisses all the time.

Here is our little one when he was just 10 weeks old.

About 12 Weeks

16 Weeks. I'm much bigger now, I should probably take a picture.

On June 11, 2014 we found out that we are having a boy. His name is Desmond Oscar Magaña. He's a moving ball of fun and I'm really excited to meet him in person.

The pregnancy has gone very well. The doctors found out that I have a bit of a thyroid problem so they have me on some medicine for that, but so far it's been just fine. Baby is healthy and they're always really impressed how easy they can find his heartbeat when they listen. Coming up on the 16th we get a full anatomy ultrasound so we're going to get a really in depth look at him. We're pretty darn excited for that one.
Desmond has been consistently on my bladder, so I haven't gotten the relief from constant peeing that most pregnant women get. He's basically rude. He's also punched me in the lungs a few times. He's basically the worst, but I love him anyways. My back has been getting more and more uncomfortable, and my feet and hands finally swelled so I can no longer wear my wedding ring or normal people shoes.
Isaac has been the best husband and father that I could've ever asked for. He puts up with all my hormonal outbursts and my random crying. I cried for about 10 minutes the other day because I didn't know how to fix the toilet. Isaac very kindly told me that he'll teach me the next time that it breaks. He made me steak for weeks, because it was all that I wanted. My cravings have slowed down and sometimes i'll be like, Ooh I really want Frosted Flakes, so it's been a little nice not to eat steak every day.
I've also been having this really weird thing where I wake up at the crack of dawn and cannot go back to sleep. It's been the worst.
I will keep you updated on the pregnancy as I go along, I just want to keep as many people informed as I can. I"m pretty excited about my life and I have never been happier. I honestly would be completely lost if I did not have Isaac, he means the world to me and I would never trade him for anything (even though he would tell me to trade him for all the money in the world and then come find him and we'll live rich together.) He's honestly the one person who completes me and I feel whole with him. I love him very much, as well as little Desmond and big boy Commander Shepard. My little family is full of boys, but that's what I'm used to, so I'm completely in my element.

You obviously don't have to read until the very end, but if  you have thank you. I hope you enjoyed my update and I will be keeping many more with so many more exciting things to come about.
